FITC-N-Acetyl-L-phenylalanine

FITC-N-Acetyl-L-phenylalanine is a fluorescent derivatization reagent. As a non radioactive fluorescent tracer probe, it is widely used for high-throughput screening of small molecule inhibitors of phenylalanine transporters in tumor metabolism and drug development for neurological diseases. It is used for the study of amino acid transport mechanisms at the cellular level. By comparing its cellular uptake differences with free FITC, the contribution of carrier mediated transport and passive diffusion can be quantitatively distinguished.
